The problem is with expressions in general, not just lookup(). I just tried - for simplicity - Form.Text1.ToolTipText = "= time()". The time displays correctly at first, but it will not refresh. So, it would seem that if the time() (or the value of the lookup()) changes, you will have to refresh the ToolTipText.

You might use one of the mouse events for this, or a Timer object, or whatever event will change the result of the lookup.
