This is for development mode only and not inside my app. I have a database to similate the customer's system and I connect to it for testing so I typically setup an odbc connection ahead of time stored on my pc for each. Sometimes I download data in dbfs on the customers system and then upload it to mine for testing using the connection I created (when they have problems and I need a sample of their data to troubleshoot).

>Of course if you use DSN you have more flexibility to switch servers, users and pass at ones, if you store main DSN somewhere over the network and watch when it is changed. But that requires to have Shared folder somewhere, where all local stations could have access. I am not sure that all DBA or IT managers could allow that (if you use SQL Server, or any other Client/Server database).
