They had an article in the local newspaper about a similar outcome to this project. Although for unexplained reasons.
The city of LA has implemented a new payroll system for the school district. I'm not sure whose system it was, but it was implemented by Deloitte.
As you can imagine, teachers get a nice 2 month summer vacation. But they get an annual salary. They are supposed to get 1/12th of their salary during the 2 months they don't work. But somehow this software can't handle this.
The teachers get paid 1 time per month. And it should be for 1/12th their salary. But they interviewed several teachers who've been paid anywhere from 1,200 to 3,600 in a 3 to 4 month period. So they can't budget their bills whatsoever. And almost everyone they've interviewed has had a month where they were in severe financial distress.
I think Deloitte is being sued as we speak.
