My second grade teacher was Mrs. Senk, and I can still remember her drilling us on how to pronounce (not "sank" or "sink").

Marshal had a Mrs. Rupenthal for 6th grade, who described it as "with a 'p', not a 'b' the way the Jews spell it." And yeah, that was an indication of how the year was going to go. The class had 34 Jewish kids and 1 gentile.
