Thanks for the suggestion. I have actaully managed to recreate the problem.
The printer color setting is automatic and Printer Env is not saved.
Prints fine when I print straight, preview is fine, I am tempted to take away the print from the preview toolbar, I don't understand. It doesn't appear to be a known issue.
