Likewise, when
all the planets visited have red soil, same vegetation, same master-servant social setups (unless they are a hive mind), all have one religion (or one dominant and the other underground - and none are religion-free)... how's that for plausibility.
Not to mention that in most cases the imagination of the writers ends with aliens' names ending in -on or just adding an apostrophe somewhere in the middle. Too lazy between the ears to use even the usual trick of borrowing simple words from less known languages. I'd just love to see one with names like Bdim, Gde, Knedla, Gnezdo, Pskov, Pshen (no silent consonants) pronounced by Anglophone actors :).
