I was just looking through the VFP5 on-line help under the topic "Application Object" and came across this note:

"Visual FoxPro version 4.0 is an automation server, allowing other applications such as Microsoft Excel or Visual Basic to remotely start and manipulate Visual FoxPro through properties and methods."

Apparently, this portion of the help file was built before Microsoft desided to include VFP in its Visual Studio suite which, I believe, is the reason why VFP skipped version 4.

...just thought someone besides me might be interested.
