>A common "gift" from a gift shop is one of those ugly creatures (trolls, gonks) that kids put on the end of their pencils, to decorate them. As with most of this "tat" that kids buy from giftshops: erasers, keyrings, bouncy balls, that you invariably find around the house: under sofas, stuck in a corner, lying around, and get lost or thrown away. The kids have no interest in them after the shop. So, like your friend said, you might as well buy the damn thing and throw it straight in the bin: thus cutting out the middle stage of it littering the house.

>You're right - a mini-essay to explain. Jetzt verstehen Sie? :-)

Ja, besser.

It wasn't exactly throwing that part away. He mean the kid should make a decission to throw something else away. Just the find a place to store the new item. But you are right too. The storage of such stuff is right under the sofa. ::)
