And I am not surprised by your response. The article gets to the very heart of what is wrong with events today. And it has nothing to do with the "blame America first" that some seem to attribute to anyone who doesn't agree with them.

It has to do with our past. What separates (? separated) our nation from others is (? was) a steadfast clinging to a certain set of morals. You could look at events in other countries and proudly point to them and say "That could never happen here!!".

Torturing human beings is close to the top of that list. There have been some examples of torture here, such as some of the behavior of the kkk towards Black people in the south. But on the whole, you won't find too many Americans who would vote for authorizing torture.

Another high priority goal in America, was helping the poor, and the less fortunate. I firmly believe that many of the social-net programs started in the 50s are what helped us as a nation get to where we are today.

These are just 2 examples. But 2 examples that current events show how low they are now on the totem pole. The USA shows up far worse then ever when looking at our ranking among industrialized nations in things like healthcare.

We are heading down a road that doesn't lead to a good place.

>This is a very odd response to this article... I am not really sure how to take it. Are you wanting to know this information or not? Are you wanting it posted somewhere in an official memo detaling all techniques employed by the US Government on interrogating detainees? If it were posted, what purpose would it serve?

>>Everything that the Administration does is Classified and therefore not to be released to the public. We should not worry because Homeland Security will protect us, etc. What will be done about this topic? The usual - nothing. It is such a waste of time to hear about these things.
>>
>>We should be concerned about those topics that every real American embraces. Paying the rent, credit card debt, affordable gasoline, health care and food. Oh and add the iPod, Cell Phones, Star Bucks and HD TV. We elect politicians to represent us - or is that represent special interests? It does not matter. Just get ready for the next election so we can express ourselves and then let our elected officials do as they please. Democracy in action. There is no finer political system if many aspire to be rich. Other political systems limit who will be rich.
