vfp 3.0 win 95

I have a combo box used to browse records and recently
added code to the init event to setfocus to the combo
box so that when form is run the combo box activates
and show a blinking cursor waiting for input from user.

However even with setfocus command the combo box shows
up as disabled. Why is it doing this and how can I change
it?
