Thanks Sergey

Calvin Hsia's blog explains the problem well and sure enough Paint failed with a suspect JPG of mine. I actually have some other problems with GDI+, which occasionally fails for me when resizing certain monochrome images off the web (i.e. unpredictable, possibly old formats). And we are still left with an issue that VFP may call OS libraries in different ways to currently supported software. In this case, we can hope more work will be done on GDI+ to set things right but it won't always happen this way.

For now I will switch to using Photoshop CS3 to do my camera raw conversions.

>It may be not VFP fault after all. See if http://blogs.msdn.com/calvin_hsia/archive/2005/07/24/442873.aspx helps.

>>... The error "Picture too big, corrupt, or in wrong format (Error 1108)" is thrown by some (but not all) JPGs off my Canon EOS 350D ... when trying to display them using the VFP image control.
