IIRC, I was able to fly back that Friday and only had to stay one extra day at the hotel. Everyone was a little nervous on the plane, but the flight was full and it was good to get home.

Still, for me that was the best DevCon I've been to, and my first. At the time, I appreciated being preoccupied with technical content instead of having full-time attention on the terrorists like the rest of the country. There was a general excitement about the VFP 7.0 release and Ken Levy's appointment. There were also a lot of good OOP sessions, and I learned a ton. I think the upcoming SW Fox (next week!) will be the first one I've been to since that will rival it in terms of content/speakers.

They both had wives and kids, and with no idea of how long the airport would be shut down, Gary decided we should rent a car and drive home. Only took 2 days, not too bad. But, we will *never* get in a Monte Carlo again! The guys called the car the "Iron Maiden" ... it was not a comfortable car to ride in (more so for them, I didn't have too much trouble, but then I'm not very big <g>).
