>I received a different error message when I tried to use Restore this time: The message says "database name MyData_data.mdf may be incorrect." I noticed that none of the system databases use the familiar _data.mdf and _log.ldf nomenclature although the file extensions are still the same. Any idea what that message really means?
Lynda,
When you attempt to restore a DB in SQL 2005, it will use the data file names of the database and log files that were in play when the database was restored. This would include the fully qualified path include drive letter. You can change this by clicking the Options button on the Restore Database dialog and then edit the 'Restore As' entry.
