>>>>>>So true. This season there was no Good Rex, just Bad Rex, until he was benched. I think his confidence is shot. And for a NFL quarterback, that is a bad place to be. Still, another team, especially a desperate one like the Panthers, might hope a change of scenery would do him good. One thing no one can say is that he doesn't have NFL caliber arm strength. Gosh, how many teams gave Jeff George a chance?

>>>Hey, what's Ryan Leaf doing these days ? ( actually, he's quarterback coach at Texas A&M ) He might be just the guy to call when you think it can't get worse.
>>
>>
>>Remember the raging debate whether Leaf or Manning should be taken #1? Fortunately for the Colts they made the right choice but it was considered by everyone to be a tossup. Then one of them turns into one of the best QBs ever and the other is a complete bust. It shows how tricky it can be evaluating 21 and 22 year old kids.

>Since I am completely immune to baseball - always have been - I did not realize until about three weeks ago that there is no salary cap in MLB. Incredible, but it does explain the extreme antipathy for teams like the Yankees. I heard a sportscaster here mention, while the Indians were playing them in the first round, that three players on the Yankees made more money than the entire Indians roster. Imagine the NFL or NBA without the cap. ( okay, Dallas is doing pretty well this year, but other teams would be effected <s> )

Baseball does have a salary cap of sorts in the form of a luxury tax. Teams that spend more than a certain amount have to pay money to teams who spend less.

I thought you were in favor of capitalism and the free market? ;-)
