>We are using IMPORT to bring data into a DBF from Excel. However, we have many users with Office 2000 or 2003 or 2007 and we need to prevent a crash if they forget to save the Excel file to be imported in 5.0/95 format (suitable for VFP7). Any ideas?

Just to throw my 2 cents in. I tried import some time ago and had all kinds of problems. Now I only use Office Automation. I very strongly suggest you take a look at using it. I have to read many spreadsheets from many manufacturers for inventory updates and OA works very well. It is also very easy to change the data import when needed without changing the output file.
