Here's a question that may not really belong here but I haven't a clue as to where else to look for help.

I have a web app that allows the user to edit the data tables and save the changes back to the site. This action also generates an email back to the user to document the changes he/she has made. The email should have the format of:

Field        Old Value              New Value
field1       olddata                newdata

etc. So that the before and after values are clear and easy to read. I can do this with tabs to create the columns. However, if the name of the field, or the olddata value are wider than the tabstop, I end up with this:

Field        Old Value              New Value
field123          olddata                newdata

So my question is - Is there a way to set the tab stop widths in an automatically generated email so that I can make sure there is enough room for the desired data without stepping on the next tab stop? My guess is that this is not possible but I thought it worth the asking.
