The link is on the upper left corner of the home page.

The class is 2k for the week if you sign up before Oct 25. Ivan could tell you better than I but I am sure it is very Strataframe specific and presupposes a certain familiarity with VB .net in general.

For more general stuff, Kevin's training is supposed to be pretty good ( I know he's a good instructor ) though i would imagine the upshot of the training would be "Gee I think i should buy MM .NET" ( which wouldnt' be a bad choice anyway)

That said, if you haven't done it yet, you can DL a trial version of the Strataframe Framework.

I'm a real believer in taking advantage of the work of tool-builders to get up to speed quickly. I wouldn't even think of using VFP without VFE and I've trained a lot of developers to get up to speed very quickly by teaching them to use the framework so they can be productive while they are learning the subtelties of vfe/vfp.

I'm finding SF is taking the scarey's out of .net for me and I'm moving along a lot faster than I would be otherwise.

>How much is the class, and the duration. I checked the website and it only says to contact them for info. I'm wondering too how much general dotnet knowledge is in the class.
>
>>I just went to the SF forum to find out about Sharp-Shooter and checked it out on the site. Looks very nice. I look forward to seeing what it can do. I'll definitely install Express and play with it a bit before I get to Amarillo. Right now I'm just trying to read up as much as I can on all things .NET and to experiment with SF as much as I can.
>>
>>My main interest right now is in figuring out how to make use of parameterized views to minimize network traffic. A lot of the beginner examples rely on pulling way too many child records and setting a filter and that is just not going to scale beyond a demo.
>>
>>I see it is definitley easy to do, I just need to get clear in my mind what the best-practices are.
>>
>>I think this class is really going to be time well-spent.
>>
>>On the map it looks like three or four of the hotels are right across the street from Microfour - is that the case?
>>
>>
>>>Yeah, it is going to be great to meet you.
>>>Talk about learning every day... this .NET thing is making me deal with so many new things... in the begining was scary, but now it is a lot of fun. Right now I am integrating Report Sharp-Shooter into my application. And you probably read on the StrataFrame Forum that they are going to post samples of how to easily do it. This report engine looks great.
>>>
>>>As you, I still do a lot of VFP with CodeMine, and probably won't get rid of it too soon. It would be great to dedicate more time to SF and .NET, and this is gradually happening.
>>>
>>>I haven't missed one class at Amarillo!!! :) The training is great, and I can always discuss new things with the guys, but the main reason I get there is to meet everybody and have good fun. I really feel like part of the family now.
>>>
>>>I am sure you will take good advantage of being there, and Steve, Trent and Ben, besides of having a huge amount of knowledge to share, are real nice people.
>>>
>>>Have you chosen the hotel already? If you need some help to choose, let me know.
>>>
>>>Abraços.

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
