I agree with everything you wrote Farhad. However, I think the approach taken to have a conference to study whether or not the holocaust even existed was the wrong approach. We know the holocaust actually existed. There is empirical evidence. A conference to discuss the holocaust and research it further is one thing, a conference to discuss its validity is another. Perhaps Iran was not a participant to any of the research over the past 60 years could be the cause of that I guess. I find it difficult to believe in today's day and age that Iran does not have access to the research and evidence the rest of the world has though.

Sentence people to jail in this subject just because of asking for research is now a rule, then what's democracy? if we don't need research more, then it's better to close academies and universities to don't waste money for researched matters. The beauty of science is its unfinished nature which encourages everybody to research more.
