Thats why it would be nice to see where it bogs doen using the trace window which isn't visible.

Try changing your debug environment from the FoxPro frame to the Debug Frame. This will move the trace window and debuging tools to a separate window from your application. You'll find the setting on the Debug page of the Options dialog box in the Tools menu.
