I did not say anything about what happened or not.
I said it is propaganda because (even by your own definition) it is something that was repeated over and over in the media, and here on UT.
What you think A... said is indeed a matter of opinion, unless you listened to the guy live, and your knowledge of the language and culture is perfect.
The other ugly thing is "China said..." instead of "China's Government said..." This is a common propaganda practice. Regardless of what was said, the effect (maybe not the intent, in your case) is to paint the whole country with the same brush. Then it becomes acceptable to discriminate against the people from there, drop a bomb, start a war...

I also get tired of rampant anti-anyotherevilcountry BS. I severely doubt that pointing at your reality will diminish the "anti-american BS". A lot of people see that reality very different - one day, you might take another look, and be surprised, it's changed!
