this is only true if the dlls on clients comp are where they belong to be, (%CommonProgramFiles%\Microsoft Shared\VFP)

The installer (that ships with vfp) installs into this directory.

If you spead the dlls to other places like system(32) folder, application folders etc. you are up to replace yourself.

IOW: The installer will keep dlls not in the shored folder (it does not know of them). Those in shared will be replaced.
