>LOL! A few years ago, around 2000-2002, the ACC was pretty exciting to watch. But over the last few years, it's been really overblown (OK, NC won the title in 2005).

>Every year, there's been something interesting in the Big 10 - a few years ago it was the great Michigan State run, and then Illinois had a great year, and then Ohio State. I'm not a huge big 10 fan in college football (probably because I have to deal with Penn State football fans), but I'd rather watch two mid-level Big 10 or Big 12 schools battle than watch a top-ranked ACC game.

>I have a friend who is a big Illinois football fan. For weeks in a row, I was picking Illinois to lose, only to see them beat teams like Penn State and Wisconsin. So I finally told my friend I was picking them against the Hawkeyes, and he begged me not to pick them, fearing that I'd jinx them. Well, of course, you know what happened last Saturday. My friend is now mad at me, and I am never going to pick Illinois to win again!
At least Ron Zook has the Illini back on the radar. They have to be the most underachieving team in college football considering the recruiting pool around Chicago. They could all play in state, but noooooo. They go to Michigan, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, everywhere but Illinois. Maybe they don't want to spend 4 years surrounded by cornfields, LOL.
