You were correct it was not a VFP nor W2K fault. I had recently upgraded my Matrox G550 driver/Powerdesk utility. In it's configuration I tick-marked an option "Center dialog boxes and message boxes:"+"In parent program window", well it seems the right-click menu is more a window than a menu, thus the behavior. Though early days I still have not noticed the problem again.
