My gosh. I don't know if I can pick a favourite movie. Besides, now you've changed the focus. My favourite movie may not coincide with what I might think is the 'best' movie ever made.
For example, I can watch Casablanca every time it comes on TV. Is it the best movie ever made? Who knows? I can watch James Garner in 'Support Your Local Sheriff' over and over again, but I certainly wouldn't class it with the best movies ever made. The best movie ever made (imho), may well be Citizen Kane because of the ground it broke and the chances it took. Then again, The Oxbow Incident and Inherit the Wind (the Tracy/March version) have to rank right up there too. Also, maybe Rashomon should get a nod. I could go on and on ad nauseum, but...
I couldn't begin to decide which movie I think is the best movie ever made. As far as my favourite? Again, no. I have too many movies that I enjoy to pick just one. But I'll tell you this, The Invasion of the Star Creatures has to be in the running. ;)
