That really is the tough one. I don't see how a military attack on Iran is gong to make things better. But I also don't see how a nuclear armed Iran is going to be a good thing.
And I do think the Israelis are going to carry the water on this one if it comes to that. Our role will be giving cover to other regimes in the area who will have to be outraged but who don't want nukes in Iran any more than we do. They will claim they didn't hit Israel in retaliation because we pressured them.
What we should be doing is EVERYTHING possible to overthrow the theocracy in Iran. ( and I think in the planning stage that was part of what the Iraq war was about. Of course, Iran had its own plans. )
