Interesting perspective. I consider Germany to be East of America :o) When I flew to Germany I went to Frankfurt via Gander, Newfoundland.

>>From the wikipedia:

>>The condition is not linked to the length of flight, but to the transmeridian (i.e., east-west) distance traveled. Hence, a ten-hour flight between Frankfurt and Johannesburg (going south, staying roughly on the same meridian) is less inducive of jet lag than a five-hour flight between New York and Los Angeles (going west).

>Which fits perfectly with my expiriences - JoBurg and Capetown just give you a different season coming from Frankfurt. But For me mostly the trip eastward gives me jetlag - coming to america I have one or two slow days similar to coming home from asia, whereas the trip home from the states or the flight to asia is only a minor hiccup.
