>Windows 98 won't install on my 486 50 mhz machine. During the upgrade, it actually stops and states that the minimum processor speed is 66 mhz. Aside from buying a new chip or machine is there a work-around for this? I thought Win98 was generally faster than Win95.

Win98 may be faster doing certain things *if* you have a P200+ with 32+Meg RAM. It requires a certain amount of processing power and resources to pull off this off, which is why they limit to a minimum config. Win95 will give you better performance with your current hardware mix.
