Personally intentionally misspelled company names (Tastee Freez et al) set my teeth on edge, but I know why they do it. It's a lot more important to them to grab the attention of prospective customers than to be linguistically correct.
Actually, many of those names are chosen not just to be memorable, but to be trademarkable. "Tastee Freez" you can trademark and defend, but "Tasty Freeze" would be a lot harder.
