>Based on a promo from Amazon I signed up today for web site hosting with GoDaddy.com. The price was dirt cheap so I decided what the heck. Now that I have a domain name, a mailbox, and blogging capability, all I have to do is figure out what to do with it. GoDaddy lets me create a web site externally and then upload it to the domain name (the wildly inventive michaelbeane.com). Can anyone recommend a simple, cheap web site creation tool? At first it probably won't be much more than some text and links to email me or go to my blog. Part 2, looking for similar software to set up and update a blog.

>I don't know what I will blog about, if anything. Hopefully something more inspired than "Today for breakfast I had corn flakes, then I gazed at my navel." But it's about time I joined the modern age and at least had the capability of blogging. Be afraid, be very afraid....

It depends... is your site .NET compatible? If so, you might want to check out DotNetNuke. I don't know exactly what it can do, but I have heard a lot of people recommend it...
Other than that, I did the website thing a few times before just to play around with HTML, PHP, Javascript, MySQL, etc. It beefed up the resume a bit (which you probably saw because you proofread mine).
