Of course, many languages have the same sounds but they have different meanings in each language. Update: my daughter just told me she has a friend in school whose name is Minel. The girl is 16 (sorry that was a typo earlier) and has a Turkish heritage (and she speaks 4 languages) so perhaps there is another meaning in Turkish or Arabic (as you said) for Minel?
Maybe your daughter's friends name is "Mine". Mine is a common name in turkish. It's mean; you know tooth's white thin plate, I don't know what's in english. I heard "Minel" first in my life...
It seem a hard seven months wait for me... :(
