I'll have to remember that excuse for the wifey. "See, I need this program for work, but I can't install it. I just have to get a new computer!".

>Since you already played Wind Dummy (old hang-gliding term ) on this one I installed VS2008CTP on my VS2005 box and everything seems fine. I realize the crunch may come when I need to install the release VS2008 but I always look for excuses to buy new laptops so ...

>>As Eric said, at least with VS, I haven't had a problem installing a CTP or beta with another version already installed. The problem I've seen is where the uninstaller that ships with the released version doesn't always completely clean up the betas. And there might be some manual work involved. It might be a bit easier if you have the beta on a VM and can just wipe away the VM and start again.

>>>I think my confusion is that I always see Virtual PC talked about for testing different operating systems but I'm not quite clear on how to implement it when you want the same operating system, but just a testbed for beta software.
