>Do I understand correctly that when you check for duplicate ID code in a method of a textbox, you don't do it right there (in the method of a UI tier)? But instead you call some method of a BIZ tier than that method calls a method of a DA tier?>
>Right (although all our calls go through a Web Service method, which calls the Biz method, which calls the DA method).

Thank you for sharing. I am still not convinced that I want to go back to checking duplicate ID in a separate validating routine. The only thing I have against this method is that it requires for me to create this method and to maintain it. I am trying to downsize my application as much as possible (read: I am lazy <g>); down to just two methods: Start() and Finish() <bg>
