>OK, me and the Wife sat there and watched the final show last night. Tony, AJ and Carmella were sat around the table in the diner. Meadow was having trouble parking her car outside .The camera kept panning to different individuals in the diner. Then, the screen went black and then, the credits rolled.

It's definitely not just you. The ending was intentionally ambiguous and there was a tremendous amount of discussion about it over here when the show aired. Some loved it, some hated it. As Craig indicates, David Chase has refused to spell out what it means. This includes a new interview in a Sopranos book coming out tomorrow which was excerpted in Entertainment Weekly magazine.

For whatever it's worth, Vince Curatola (Johnny Sack) was asked what he thought the ending meant. He stressed that he doesn't know anything that wasn't in the script and that Chase didn't give any sort of inside insight to the cast. He said that just as a viewer his reaction was that when the screen fades to black, Tony's dead.

Chase also said in the interview that he wanted to leave the screen black all the way to the HBO logo and the start of the next show, skipping the credits entirely, but was not allowed to due to guild agreements.
