He was a last minute substitution for an injured Packers receiver and caught two touchdown passes. McGee was hung over from staying out all night and didn't even have his helmet with him on the sideline. Most football fans remember that part. What they may not remember is that Bart Starr, not McGee, was named the game's MVP and won the new Corvette that went with it. "Sure, give the Vette to the $100,000 quarterback instead of the $25,000 receiver," McGee joked.

Yes, I did hear about his death. Sad. I still remember that catch he made on the bad throw by Starr. The ball was well behind him as he cut across. He twisted his body, reached behind with one hand, and gathered it in. Remarkable catch.

McGee was a card. There is a story that Lombardi caught him coming in after curfew one night and fined him $1000.00. Then he told McGee that if he ever found a woman out there worth $1000.00, to let him know and he'd go with him.
