No, my neighbors were all so scared they refused to answer their doors. Not surprising though considering it was 1971 and it was a farming community. No such thing really as 'next door,' we were all fairly close but at least half an acre apart (the closest). I had one neighbor about 2 miles away though who had a farm. My brother and I used to ride our bikes over there to help them out because they were in the 60s and didn't have any kids. When we went there they asked us if we had seen anything unusual recently but by then my mom had decided that we shouldn't talk about it because everyone we had attempted to talk to afterwards were avoiding us like the plague. They pressed alittle bit, suspecting that we had, but like good farm kids, we did as our mom said (or else).
