I agree completely. Then lets say the accuser decides to take action anyway and not only sends off numerous letters to the employer but also writes disparaging comments about him/her online and continues to do so. It is nothing more than a personal vendetta in my opinion (if that is the situation as we are all hypothesizing here). What would make it even worse is if respected collegues knew of such a situation and condoned it by taking no action.
