John,

IMHO the facts should be revealed ASAP so people can judge for themselves. Either letters were sent to the employer (presumably after the widely-acclaimed proclamation that the matter was concluded) or they weren't. IMHO all this speculation does an injustice to the tattler if the letters were *not* sent, so it's only fair to come clean now. I suppose there may be some impediments (such as an employment grievance underway?) but in that case some here may be motivated to support the employee and/or formally dispute the suggestions in the letters, which may be to the employee's great advantage.
"... They ne'er cared for us
yet: suffer us to famish, and their store-houses
crammed with grain; make edicts for usury, to
support usurers; repeal daily any wholesome act
established against the rich, and provide more
piercing statutes daily, to chain up and restrain
the poor. If the wars eat us not up, they will; and
there's all the love they bear us.
"
