>Related question, can I assume that the MSWinsck.ocx is installed, but possibly not registered? How would I handle that during my first run installation? Should I just search for it and then register it in code, or is there another way?

Yeah, it wasn't registered - gave an error - and then the licensing thing. Trying to make the install for our network guy as seamless as possible. I created an app that is used to intall/setup/start/stop and monitor the service and would like to have as few hiccups as I can when we start distributing.
