Looks like you did the right thing the best way you could - not that you had the intention for it to go exactly down this path, but nevertheless. The hypothetical scenario worked for a couple of days, but then too many people recognized what it was about (and I was awfully late in that respect myself, because my first gut instinct that it's NN vs AK && MA, but then I thought it can't be that, in your scenario person B also worked for C - which it wasn't, I simply misread that part and never returned to check) and Al eventually let the dogs off the chain.

May I, under danger of being shot at, insert another Serbian proverb? "Who knows why this is good".
