This same approach was used by Robert Pastorelli's character in the movie "Eraser" (Arnold Schwarznegger, Vanessa Williams, James Coburn, and James Caan) as part of a ruse to gain entry into a (supposedly secure) office building.

Best part of that was Camryn Manheim's bit part as the medic who thinks that Pastorelli's character is having a heart attack and tries to defibrillate him. Laughed so hard I almost spilled my popcorn all over my wife...
