Some time ago, I've experienced the same problem (show * in some report fields) and after use Transform (with a mask with less digits), it was solved.
Thinking in your answer and looking at the code in our app, I saw that @R doesn't display the digits exceeding the mask. So, it worked for me because I have a N(18,2) field, but the value never was higher than the mask specified in Transform.
If this is the Vladimir's case, maybe using a mask with less digit (like I do) the problem be solved. Else, the options will be that showed by you (and other UT members).
