Recently modified a version of my TapeLibrary database system that I have been running at my facility for 6+ years. Designed as multi-user, and I simply access the data files over the LAN. 5 - 10 simultaneous users at any given time, and no performance issues whatsoever. Have used both Novell and Mac OSX servers and did no speacial server settings.

After testing multi-user performance on my network, I deployed at a client location on WinXP PCs and placed the data & reports directory on their Win2K server. Found that the FIRST user had lightning quick access launching my login screen and then opening the .dbc ( about 20 dbfs w/ less than 20K records ). HOWEVER... subsequent users had to wait several seconds for the login screen and approx 20 more seconds to get the main form up ( with its data env ).

They have a single share on their Win2K server and it only offers file sharing services. Not sure how sharp their IT support is either. Are there some settings that may need to be adjusted on their server??

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
