There are a few permanent indexes on some of the dbfs. We have observed that these indexeses are not getting updated sometimes.

Questions

1. What could be the possible reasons for such a behaviour.

2. What is the correct way of working with dbfs that have permanent indexes during insertion, Updation & deletion

3. Should we re-index all the dbfs while starting the s/w. I personally feel this should not be necessary.

4. Where can I find articles on indexing and its problems.
