I am a newbie at this too.. So simply setting the control's EnableViewState property to True has provided all the functionality I need. I think most, if not all web controls have a Protected method called SaveViewState. How do you want to use ViewState?

I am actually spending more time determining which controls can have EnableViewState set to False to reduce page size.

>It's a great article, thanks. I would need to re-read it more thoroughly, but by the quick glance I could not find a simple example of creating a class, saving an object of this class to ViewState and restoring it back. This is what I'm looking for right now.
