I've found that anything written for SQL server can be adjusted to work with MySql within a couple of hours. The syntax for datetime literals is somewhat different and there's that semicolon ending a command and the syntax for Top N is different. Just look up any SPT class - I tried here in downloads but didn't have enough patience :).
