Hi Mike,

First, I don't think many have called for the 2 a-holes to be "defrocked", but rather ostracized/shunned/ignored. That would ultmately amount to defrocking I suppose, in that their 'contributions' would either dwindle to inadequate or provide no value by virtue of not being read/used by people.

Secondly, this has NOTHING to do with either party's "contributions". What it has to do with is AndyK's vendetta against the UT resulting in his disallowing a post that had a link to a UT thread in it. And under the poor - stupid, actually - rationale that it constituted "advertising".
Naomi, as most any other participant would, tried to defend such usage. AndyK was not satisfied with banning her from 'his'? web site, not satisfied with trying to ban her from a MSDN web site, but needed to have her fired from her job.

It is the extremely rare case - I can't think of ANY myself - that settng out to get someone fired is a justifiable when it comes to participation in forums.

The 2 a-holes crossed the line, and wildly so! They DESERVE, having earned it in spades, to be ostracized, shunned and ignored.

Frankly, too, I think Naomi should have contacted a lawyer by now.

>The contributions of an MVP should provide real VALUE. I believe the people that choose the MVP look at more than just the frequency. Naomi's posts were numerous because she had an unfair advantage, but IMO they were rarely as technically important as the contributions of MVPs.

>Frankly, I don't get along with Andy Kramek, despite wishing otherwise. We've never "clicked". However, even so, I cannot support this idea that he and/or Marcia be defrocked. Their contributions to the community far, far outweigh those of Naomi.
>
>Conversely, I feel sorry for Naomi. I know she doesn't have a lot of self-esteem and have told her to toughen up before. She even asked me (privately) if I thought her statements to Marcia on MSDN (I think?) were inappropriate. I concurred with the webmaster that it was not her place to criticize Marcia's (or for that matter) anyone's posts.

>Naomi, Andy and Marcia harmed the VFP online communities by dragging the communities into this dispute. Employers must now be thinking to curtail access. That hurts every one of us.

>Recriminations at this point are a waste of time. Let's get back to the purpose of this site, sharing information.
