>I don't see that the opinions of MVPs are any or more less valid than anyone else's on this issue. There are a lot of very bright, very talented people here who are not MVPs. (And I'm not saying that out of envy, because I was one for several years). Peter is of course free to say whatever he likes but IMO it was almost a non sequitir to bring MVP status into the discussion.
>
>The party who asked me to stay mum, indirectly, was Naomi herself. I think it's safe to say she has not reversed her position.

I don't know, Mike. I think the MVP thing may have changed since you and I sat at the Round Table. ( In those days, steam-powered computers made it harder to keep your hands clean and Ada Byron was a tough mistress who kept things from gettuing too far out of line) From what I read here, now it is more like Skull and Bones and every year they meet in Bohemian Grove or Jekyl Island, Georgia and plot the united front they will present to the masses <s>

Though a good deal is too strange to be believed, nothing is too strange to have happened.
- Thomas Hardy

Half the harm that is done in this world is due to people who want to feel important. They don't mean to do harm-- but the harm does not interest them. Or they do not see it, or they justify it because they are absorbed in the endless struggle to think well of themselves.

-- T. S. Eliot
Democracy is two wolves and a sheep voting on what to have for lunch.
Liberty is a well-armed sheep contesting the vote.
- Ben Franklin

Pardon him, Theodotus. He is a barbarian, and thinks that the customs of his tribe and island are the laws of nature.
