I was in a store looking for a seat cover when they announced over their PA system that it was 11:00 and would people please give 2 minutes of silence. Everyone stopped and did so, except for a couple of women not far from me who insisted on cackling to each other about the pots and pans they continued to rattle. If I weren't such a pacifist, I'd have walked over and whupped them upside the head. Just as well though, because there were two of them and they both looked to be under 80.
