My own experience with Python humor was that several years as an undergraduate (and a considerable quantity of beer) gave me a new and different prespective on Pythonesque humor. You might have developed your appreciation at a much earlier (and less inebriated) age and stage of life. Or you might not have a penguin on top of your television set yet...
