>That Andy identified himself in one of the letters as an MVP is a pretty slim pretext for putting the spotlight on MVPs in general.

>OK... so NET MVPs state that there are standards of behavior to be upheld while VFP MVPs prefer to stay shtumm- in public, anyway. Behind the scenes, apparently at least one of them tried to prevent release of the letters on the grounds that the Ks own the copyright.

I feel pretty sure that the motive for this copyright warning was ethically sound. This person feared that people might get sued for that action. So, it was not a tactic move from one who condones the letter.

The letter was made available (via my website) because copyright is not an issue. It would be an issue if it was inserted in, as examples, an essay or a book. Letters and emails sent to you can be freely published by you - even if sent with a confidentiality stamp - if you can give a plausible reason for doing that. One such reason is that it enables you to ultimately proof innocence, to those who matter. Privacy, on the other hand, must be guaranteed as much as possible. All private details that are not necessary for the argument, should be removed in the published letter. And that's what I have done.

>If we're all happy with that, then there's no more to be said. Except that the weather is very pleasant here in the Congo.

Let's develop superb standards that will end the holy wars.
